The Tooth Fairy Comes to Italy

Fiona started our trip with two loose bottom teeth. Less than a week in, they were both outa there. The first one was so wiggly that the three adults placed bets on when it would come out. Three days later (on the day I predicted, for the record), while we were relaxing on the best beach ever, Fiona calmly turned to Dan and said, “Daddy, my tooth came out!” We’re pretty sure she wins the prize for most scenic tooth-loss location.

The second one followed suit—in slightly more dramatic and less scenic style—less than 24 hours later, after we’d arrived in Rome. Fi was getting ready for bed when her flosser got stuck in her wiggly tooth. And when Dan tried to dislodge it… pop! That one was out too, ready or not.

Little-known fact: When you lose a tooth in Italy, the Tooth Fairy pays in euros. So Fi had fun finding a little something at one of the tourist shops in Rome with her European currency: a navy-blue fluff-ball kitty she named Fuzzberg.

The rest of her mouth seems to be holding steady for the time being, so we didn’t get to find out whether the Tooth Fairy also carries Swiss francs—but these two lost teeth were definitely memorable enough for one trip.
